Mazars grows by acquiring Sydek in Landskrona and Hörby

The acquisition of the accounting firm Sydek in Landskrona and Hörby makes Mazars the largest auditing and accounting agency on these locations.

The acquisition is part of Mazars strategy to grow both organically and through acquisitions in the local markets where Mazars operates, but also to become an even bigger player in accounting. The business in Landskrona and Hörby will now be strengthened with 12 Accountant Consultants and Payroll Administrators.

“Just as Mazars, Sydek is established in Landskrona and Hörby since long. We both have a strong presence and extensive knowledge of our local market and we have a tradition of working closely with our customers in a personal and dedicated way”, says Marianne Sandén Ljungberg, CEO of Mazars in Sweden.

Mazars and Sydek have collaborated for nearly 20 years and have a well worked-up clientele and have many common customers.
“It is a great advantage that we already know each other so well and that we have been working together for a long time, it will make it easier to integrate our businesses. Now we become an even stronger player here in Landskrona and in other places where we operate in the northwest of Skåne”, says Anders Karlsson, Partner and Authorised Public Accountant at Mazars in Landskrona, together with Thomas Svefelt, Authorised Accountant Consultant at Sydek, he is responsible for the integration of Mazars and Sydek.

Paul Jönsson founded Sydek 21 years ago. The decision to discontinue his operations is a natural step for his retirement. He will continue to work as a consultant and advisor for Mazars in another year to come.
“Mazars is a sustainable, progressive and forward-looking agency that meets the requirements and expectations that both I and my colleagues requires from a modern audit and accounting firm”, says Paul Jönsson.
